Mastery Learning

Mastery learning, a scientifically effective method for delivering instruction to a diverse range of students (Ryan 1995, 25–30), is integrated into the Larson Learning® method of instruction in several ways to ensure that students achieve math proficiency:

	The Larson Learning® Learning Management System (LMS) provides a way for teachers to customize the material according to their own course objectives and organize them into modules.
	The LMS provides the assessments necessary for teachers to make diagnostic decisions.
	The teacher is in control of what is being presented to the student so he or she can make instructional decisions based on what is happening in the classroom.
	Larson Learning® provides extra practice and enrichment for building proficiency, based on mastery.
